HAWK Biosystems are a biotechnology company situated in the Basque Country that has developed a patented technology, QF-Pro®, which quantifies protein-protein interactions and protein post-translational modifications in single cell and fixed tissue samples, with a wide array of applications in the fields of pharmacodynamics, precision diagnostics and prognostics. We are currently recruiting for the position of Sales Manager.

Background and Responsibilities:

The Sales Manager is the point person for developing new instrument sales, working with Product Management and Applications Scientists’ in a highly effective team selling model. The customer base spans national and international academic, biotech, and pharma markets, and the call points range from laboratory technicians to C-suite executives. Candidates must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and target orientated individuals who thrive on the independence and variety offered by a field sales role. The candidate must also be skilled at working within a team environment, leveraging the expertise and strengths of all.

  • Management of all aspects of the sales process, with a focus on prospecting, consultative client meetings, and pricing/terms negotiations across all client organisation levels
  • Actively communicating with the leadership team progress updates and forecasts for opportunities within CRM
  • Coordination and execution of field and virtual events for lead generation, including technical workshops and lunch-and-learn seminars
  • Development a strong working knowledge of the technical product portfolio, range of scientific applications, and target markets
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and issue resolution
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • PhD in Biology or similar Life Science discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years technical, scientific capital sales experience, preferably to Life Science laboratories in the academic, pharma, and biotech space, both at a national and international level
  • Proactive mindset with strong sense of urgency around new business development
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Dedication to customer satisfaction and issue resolution
  • Operates ethically and interacts with graciousness and gratitude
  • Ability to travel as needed for effective field coverage
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Background and Responsibilities:

Hawk Biosystems is seeking a software engineer with experience in research and development and with a solid knowledge in image processing software. The principal goal will be to help Hawk Biosystems with the development of novel microscopy solutions based on its proven QF-Pro® technology, specifically the design of a new software product for scientific image processing and analysis. You will develop algorithms for quantitative analysis, data acquisition and image processing/analysis. You will coordinate with other software/hardware architects and developers for whole system integration of the analysis software, the hardware and a proprietary graphical user interface.

The desired candidate should be highly driven and able to work both independently and also within an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a relevant degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, biomedical engineering or related) and have experience.
  • Working experience in the field of image processing and analysis.
  • Experience with programming C/C++ and/or Matlab/Python;
  • Desirable experience in big data analytics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Background and Responsibilities:

Hawk Biosystems is seeking a software designer with experience in research and development and with solid knowledge of graphical user interface (GUI) design and implementation and cloud software development. The main goal will be to help Hawk Biosystems with the development of a novel bioimaging software suite to accompany our proprietary microscopy platform.

You will be responsible for designing, creating and testing a GUI which will be responsible for data acquisition, analysis, microscope control and data storage and handling. This GUI must interface with our designed microscopy hardware. The role requires a prior experience related to the design of high-end GUI software’s which are suitable for commercial purposes.

The desired candidate should be highly driven and able to work both independently and also within a diverse team.

Requirements:

Must hold a relevant degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, engineering or related) and have experience with GUI design at a commercial level, preferably in user-oriented scientific software development. Additional skills will include experience on cloud software development and familiarity with microscopy platforms and imaging.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

HAWK Biosystems is seeking a junior scientist (Postdoc) with experience in academic research and with solid knowledge in cells signalling, biochemistry, cell culture, cell biology. The main goal will be to help HAWK Biosystems Research team to develop novel reagents to accompany our proprietary microscopy platform.

In addition to the bench work, the applicant will be trained in the use of our instrument (data acquisition, analysis, microscope control).

The desired candidate should be highly driven and comfortable in working both independently and in collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements:

The candidate must hold a PhD in life sciences and have experience in working in laboratories either in academia or industry. Additional advantageous knowledge may include a background in: Cancer signalling, Immunology or Immuno-oncology, Confocal microscopy, Biomarkers or familiarity with microscopy platforms and imaging.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are necessary.

Background and Responsibilities:

Hawk Biosystems are seeking a hardware engineer with experience in research and development and with solid knowledge of microscopy hardware and/or OEM optics. The principal goal will be to help Hawk Biosystems with the development of novel microscopy devices based on its proven QF-Pro® technology.

You will be responsible for designing, testing, and transitioning OEM parts into the full‑scale manufacturing of high-reliability, safety-critical products. This will include high-quality design implementation; adherence to hardware standards and processes; and implementation of existing architecture efforts. Work will be carried out in tandem with our software engineers. The role requires a prior experience related to electro-mechanical design, analysis, and implementation.

The desired candidate should be highly driven and able to work both independently and also within a diverse team.

Requirements:

Must hold a relevant degree (biotechnology, physics, engineering etc) and have had experience with OEM optics and microscope design.
